Preparing for service changes in the Northstar corridor
Northstar Commuter Rail service will transition to more frequent bus service. This change will allow Metro Transit to provide flexible bus service designed to meet diverse travel needs that better match post-pandemic travel patterns. We understand that this is a significant change for our riders and want to make sure that the bus service we provide best meets the needs of the community in this corridor.
As we design a bus service plan, we are exploring options that provide service every 30 minutes during rush hours (6 – 8:30 a.m. and 4 – 6:30 p.m.) and every 60 minutes during the midday (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) in both directions.
We would like your feedback on these bus service plan. Please take this survey by May 11 or join us at upcoming events.
- Tuesday, April 29 – 5 to 7 p.m., Anoka City Hall, 2015 1st Avenue, Anoka, MN 55303
- Wednesday, April 30 – 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Virtual meeting Registration link
- Wednesday, May 7 – Onboard northbound Northstar trip leaving Target Field Station at 4:30 p.m.
- Thursday, May 8 – 5 to 6:30 p.m., Mississippi Library, 410 Mississippi Street NE, Fridley, MN 55432

Your feedback will help inform the final bus service plan. A date for transitioning from commuter rail to bus service has not yet been set. More information will be shared later this year about timing.
In the meantime, continue riding with us
